PRODUCT LABEL

IMPORTANT: This information is approved as part of the Product Label. All instructions within this section must be carefully read in order to obtain safe and successful use of this product.

RESTRICTIONS
Sulphur is attractive to livestock and THIOVIT JET must be kept out of their reach.

DISEASES CONTROLLED
THIOVIT JET is used for the control of powdery mildew in sugar beet, swedes and hops.

As THIOVIT JET Jet is a preventative fungicide, spraying should be carried out before the disease becomes established.

CROP SPECIFIC INFORMATION
SUGAR BEET
Follow one of the two programmes described below.
Powdery mildew appears from late July to mid September in crops on the eastern side of the country, south of the Humber.

‘Wait and See’ programme
Rate of use: Apply 10 kg per hectare in at least 400 litres of water.
Time of application: As soon as disease appears.
Repeat application: 2–3 weeks later if settled weather persists.
Maximum no. of treatments: 2 per crop.

‘Insurance’ Programme
If powdery mildew is regularly seen in the crop at the end of the season, a routine spray with THIOVIT JET every year is an extremely sound investment.

Rate of use: Apply 10 kg per hectare in at least 400 litres of water.
Time of application: At any time during the first two weeks of August.
Repeat application: 2–3 weeks later.
Maximum no. of treatments: 2 per crop.

SWEDES
THIOVIT JET can give moderate control of powdery mildew on swedes. It should only be applied if further growth is needed.

Rate of use: Apply 10 kg per hectare in at least 200 litres of water.
Time of application: When the crop meets across the rows (mid-July to mid-August).
Repeat application: 2–3 weeks later if mildew appears in the crop.
Maximum no. of treatments: 2 per crop.

HOPS
Rate of use: 11 kg per hectare in 350–500 litres of water (Low volume). 6 kg in 1000 litres of water (High volume).
Time of application: Begin in mid-May and continue until the burr stage.
Repeat application: At 10–14 day intervals.

MIXING AND SPRAYING
Thiovit Jet alone
Fill the spray tank to the required volume. Start agitation, remove filter basket and then slowly add THIOVIT JET to the full tank and allow to disperse. Continue agitation during spraying.

After mixing
Do not allow the spray mixture to stand in the spray tank without agitation. Do not allow the spray mixture to stand in the spray booms; either lift spray booms and allow mixture to drain or ensure each tank load is sprayed out. Sprayers should be flushed out with clean water at the end of each day’s spraying.
