WILDLIFE, MAMMALS AND BIRDS
WILDLIFE

RADIUS is not classified as ‘Harmful to game, wild birds and mammals’.

MAMMALS AND BIRDS

No risk management is necessary to protect mammals and birds. RADIUS is of moderate toxicity to mammals and birds. The risk to wild mammals and birds feeding on treated areas is low due to the limited amount of residues likely to be consumed.

BEES
No risk management is necessary as RADIUS poses a low risk to bees.

NON-TARGET INSECTS AND OTHER ARTHROPODS
RADIUS is classified as ‘Risk to non-target insects or other arthropods’

Risk management advised. RADIUS can adversely affect non-target insect species. Precautions should be taken to avoid spray reaching hedgerows, beetle banks and conservation headlands.

‘Avoid spraying within 6m of the field boundary to reduce effects on non-target insects and other arthropods.’

AQUATIC LIFE
RADIUS is classified as ‘VERY TOXIC TO AQUATIC ORGANISMS’. Care must be taken to ensure that surface waters or ditches are not contaminated with the product or used container.

RADIUS is highly toxic to fish and extremely toxic to aquatic invertebrates and algae. Although cyprodinil partitions into the sediment of aquatic systems where it is persistent, the toxicity to sediment dwelling organisms is low.

No risk management is necessary. When RADIUS is used according to the label instructions there will not be sufficient contamination of water to present a risk to aquatic life.

RADIUS is not categorised under the LERAP scheme.

SOIL AND GROUNDWATER, EARTHWORMS AND SOIL MICRO-ORGANISMS
SOIL AND GROUNDWATER
Cyproconazole is moderately to very persistent in soil and is moderately mobile. Cyprodinil has relatively short persistence in soil under field conditions. If RADIUS is used as recommended there is a low risk of groundwater contamination.

EARTHWORMS

RADIUS is of moderate toxicity to earthworms, however the risk to earthworms is low.

SOIL MICRO-ORGANISMS

No risk management necessary. No effect on soil microbial processes were found and so the risk is considered to be low.

NON-TARGET PLANTS
When used as directed, RADIUS is not expected to have adverse effects on non-target plants.

ALWAYS READ THE LABEL: USE PESTICIDES SAFELY

Care must be taken to minimise the risk of surface water contamination from farmyard and
field sources.
