GENERAL INFORMATION
MENARA is an emulsifiable concentrate containing 250 g/l propiconazole and 160 g/l cyproconazole for use as a foliar fungicide on all commercial varieties of winter wheat and winter and spring barley.
Treatment at early stages of disease development will ensure the best results.
Caution
The possible development of resistance to MENARA cannot be predicted. Should it occur MENARA may not give satisfactory control and no responsibility can be accepted for any loss incurred.
MENARA applied to winter wheat in the spring at GS30–33 may, on occasion, cause straw shortening. This effect causes no loss of yield and can be beneficial in a potential lodging situation.
DISEASES CONTROLLED
MENARA controls Powdery Mildew, Yellow and Brown Rust, Net Blotch,
Septoria spp., Ear Diseases and
Rhynchosporium.
Apply at the first sign of disease.
When applied before or during the period of stem extension in the spring (GS30–32), MENARA will give a useful reduction of Eyespot.
CROP SPECIFIC INFORMATION
For use on all varieties of winter wheat and winter and spring barley.
Avoid applying MENARA to crops under stress.
Timing
For the control of Powdery Mildew, Yellow and Brown Rust, Net Blotch,
Septoria spp., Ear Diseases and
Rhynchosporium, apply at the first sign of disease.
For Eyespot when applied before or during the period of stem extension in the spring (GS30–32), MENARA will give a useful reduction.
Rates of Use
Winter wheat
Apply MENARA at 0.5 l/ha. A maximum of 1.0 l/ha MENARA may be used per crop.
Barley
Apply MENARA at 0.5 l/ha. A maximum of 0.5 l/ha MENARA may be used per crop.
MIXING AND SPRAYING
Apply MENARA in 200–400 litres of water per hectare using a tractor mounted sprayer and a medium spray as defined by BCPC. A spray pressure of 2–3 bars is recommended.
Make sure the sprayer is set to give an even application at the correct volume.
Add half the volume of clean water to the spray tank. Turn on the agitation and add the recommended quantity of MENARA. Continue agitation whilst topping up the spray tank and continue agitation during spraying. Wash out all spray equipment thoroughly with water immediately after use. The spray solution must not be left in the tank and should be used as soon as possible after mixing.

WEAR SUITABLE PROTECTIVE CLOTHING (COVERALLS), SUITABLE PROTECTIVE GLOVES AND FACE PROTECTION (FACESHIELD) when handling the concentrate.
WEAR SUITABLE PROTECTIVE CLOTHING (COVERALLS) AND SUITABLE PROTECTIVE GLOVES when handling contaminated surfaces.
However engineering controls may replace personal protective equipment if a COSHH assessment shows they provide an equal or higher standard of protection.
WASH CONCENTRATE from skin or eyes immediately.
WASH HANDS AND EXPOSED SKIN before meals and after work.
(b) Environmental protection
Do not contaminate water with the product or its container. Do not clean application equipment near surface water. Avoid contamination via drains from farmyards and roads.
