WILDLIFE, MAMMALS AND BIRDS
WILDLIFE

MENARA is not classified as ‘Harmful to game, wild birds and mammals’’

MAMMALS AND BIRDS

No risk management is necessary to protect mammals and birds. MENARA is of moderate toxicity to mammals and birds. The risk to wild mammals and birds feeding on treated areas is low due to the limited amount of residues likely to be consumed.

BEES
No risk management is necessary as MENARA poses a low risk to honey bees. There is no requirement to avoid application of the product when bees may be foraging on flowering weeds in and around treated areas.

NON-TARGET INSECTS AND OTHER ARTHROPODS
No risk management is necessary. MENARA poses a low risk to the range of arthropod species commonly found in and around treated fields.

AQUATIC LIFE
MENARA is classified as ‘Very toxic to aquatic organisms, may cause long term adverse effects in the aquatic environment’.’

MENARA is moderately toxic to certain aquatic species such as Daphnia and fish and is highly toxic to algae. Care should be taken to ensure that surface waters or ditches are not contaminated with the product or used container.

No risk management is necessary. In practice the risk to aquatic life is low if used as recommended.

Not categorised under the LERAP scheme.

SOIL AND GROUNDWATER, EARTHWORMS AND SOIL MICRO-ORGANISMS
SOIL AND GROUNDWATER

Cyproconazole is moderately to very persistent in soil and is moderately mobile. Propiconazole is moderately to very persistent in soil and has a low soil mobility. If MENARA is used as recommended there is a low risk of groundwater contamination.

EARTHWORMS

MENARA is of low toxicity to earthworms and so will pose a low risk to earthworm populations in and around treated fields. No risk management necessary.

SOIL MICRO-ORGANISMS

No risk management is necessary. No effects on soil microbial processes were found and so the risk is considered to be low.

NON-TARGET PLANTS
Cyproconazole and propiconazole have negligible activity on plants. Therefore, MENARA should have no adverse effect on non-target plants.

ALWAYS READ THE LABEL: USE PESTICIDES SAFELY

Care must be taken to minimise the risk of surface water contamination from farmyard and field sources.
