WILDLIFE, MAMMALS AND BIRDS
WILDLIFE

FUSILADE MAX is not classified as ‘Harmful to game, wild birds and animals’.

MAMMALS AND BIRDS

FUSILADE MAX is of low toxicity to mammals and birds. The risk to wild species is low due to the limited amount of residues likely to be consumed. Although, no risk management is necessary to protect wild mammals and birds, the following restrictions are advised:

When applying to non-cropped field margins and/or green cover on land temporarily removed from production: treated vegetation must not be grazed or harvested for human or livestock consumption. Unprotected persons must be kept out of treated areas for at least 24 hours after treatment. A full green cover must be established before the pesticide is applied.’

‘Industrial oilseed rape, linseed and flax must not be harvested for human or animal consumption nor grazed.’

BEES
No risk management is necessary as FUSILADE MAX is of low risk to honey bees.

NON-TARGET INSECTS AND OTHER ARTHROPODS
Field studies have shown that the risk to non-target insects and other arthropods commonly found in treated fields is low. Consequently, no risk management is necessary.

AQUATIC LIFE
FUSILADE MAX is not classified as ‘Harmful to aquatic organisms’.

FUSILADE MAX is of high toxicity to fish and algae. Care must be taken to ensure that surface waters or ditches are not contaminated with the product or used container.

No risk management is necessary. The risk to aquatic life is low, if FUSILADE MAX is used as recommended.

Not categorised under the LERAP scheme.

SOIL AND GROUNDWATER, EARTHWORMS AND SOIL MICRO-ORGANISMS
SOIL AND GROUNDWATER

Fluazifop-P-butyl has low persistence in soil and is not mobile. In soil the acid is formed which is highly mobile, as are the major soil metabolites. However, the risk of groundwater contamination is low if FUSILADE MAX is used as directed.

EARTHWORMS

FUSILADE MAX is of low toxicity to earthworms, consequently the risk is low and no risk management is necessary.

SOIL MICRO-ORGANISMS

At the approved application rate, FUSILADE MAX is unlikely to have any adverse effect on soil microbial respiration, on nitrogen turnover and on straw decomposition. The risk to soil microbial activity is therefore low.

NON-TARGET PLANTS
FUSILADE MAX is a herbicide affecting cereals and grass species. Avoid spray drift onto
neighbouring crops. Care should be taken to minimise the drift of FUSILADE MAX into conservation headlands, hedgerows and grass verges.

ALWAYS READ THE LABEL: USE PESTICIDES SAFELY

Care must be taken to minimise the risk of surface water contamination from farmyard and field sources.
