Agronomic information
Denman is a short variety with moderately stiff straw, and relatively early maturity.



Growth habit
Denman has an intermediate growth habit and a relatively slow development rate. It is suitable for early drilling.



Recommended sowing rates
Suggested seed rates per square metre are shown below, these should always be used in conjunction with the thousand grain weight.

• September to Mid October ~ 220-275 seeds/m2
• Mid-October onwards ~ 275-350 seeds/m2

Denman is a medium to low-tillering variety.

Nitrogen application
Standard nitrogen input programme for a feed variety, typically not exceeding 180 kgs N/ha.

• 20% middle of March (GS25-29)
• 60% GS32
• 20% GS34-37 – ensures quality is maintained to cover all potential markets
