WILDLIFE, MAMMALS AND BIRDS
WILDLIFE
CULTAR is not classified as ‘Harmful to game, wild birds and animals’.
MAMMALS AND BIRDS
No risk management is necessary to protect wild mammals and birds. CULTAR is of low toxicity to both mammals and birds. The risk to wild mammals and birds feeding on treated areas is low due to the limited amount of residues likely to be consumed.
‘Do not harvest crops for human or animal consumption for at least 2 weeks after last application’.
BEES
No risk management is necessary. CULTAR is of low risk to honey bees.
NON-TARGET INSECTS AND OTHER ARTHROPODS
No risk management is necessary. CULTAR poses a low risk to a range of arthropod species commonly found in and around treated fields.
AQUATIC LIFE
CULTAR is classified as ‘Harmful to aquatic organisms, may cause long-term adverse effects in the aquatic environment’.
CULTAR is extremely toxic to certain aquatic plants such as duckweed, and so care should be taken to minimise drift when applying CULTAR next to shallow ponds, ditches or slow flowing streams.
Care must be taken to ensure that surface waters or ditches are not contaminated with the product or the used container.
No risk management necessary. When used according to the label instructions there will not be sufficient contamination of water to present a risk to aquatic life.
Not categorised under the LERAP scheme.
SOIL AND GROUNDWATER, EARTHWORMS AND SOIL MICRO-ORGANISMS
SOIL AND GROUNDWATER
Paclobutrazol is very persistent in soil and has moderate mobility. Use of CULTAR according to the label instruction presents a low risk to groundwater.
EARTHWORMS
CULTAR is of low toxicity to earthworms. No risk management is necessary as the risk to earthworms is low.
SOIL MICRO-ORGANISMS
CULTAR is unlikely to have any long-term effect on soil microbial activity. The risk is therefore considered to be low. No risk management is necessary.
NON-TARGET PLANTS
No effects on non-target plant species are expected when CULTAR is used as recommended.
ALWAYS READ THE LABEL: USE PESTICIDES SAFELY
