PRODUCT LABEL

IMPORTANT: This information is approved as part of the Product Label. All instructions within this section must be carefully read in order to obtain safe and successful use of this product.

DISEASES CONTROLLED
BRAVO 500 contains chlorothalonil, a non-systemic broad spectrum fungicide for use on winter and spring wheat and winter and spring barley. When sprayed onto foliage it provides long lasting protection. Best results from this protectant property are obtained by treatment before disease enters the crop or at the first sign of attack.

BRAVO 500 can be used to control the following diseases:

Winter and Spring Wheat – Protection against Leaf Spot (Septoria tritici) and Glume Blotch (Leptosphaeria (syn. Septoria) nodorum).
Winter and Spring Barley – Rhynchosporium secalis [moderate control]. Barley Spotting control is also achieved when used as part of a programme with other fungicides.
It is particularly important to achieve a good spray coverage of all foliage.

CROP SPECIFIC INFORMATION
Wheat
Protection against Leaf Spot (Septoria tritici) and Glume Blotch (Leptosphaeria (syn. Septoria) nodorum).

RATE OF USE
Apply 2.0 litres in 200 litres of water per hectare as a MEDIUM spray (as defined by BCPC) at a pressure of at least 2.0 bar.

TIMING
Growth stage 30–32 (2nd node detectable) BRAVO 500 may be applied once up to maximum individual dose of 2.0 l/ha if Septoria is evident and/or conditions are favourable for the spread of the disease. This may give protection against the spread of Septoria.

Growth stage 33–65 BRAVO 500 will provide protection against Septoria on the flag leaf and ear and should normally be applied between the third node detectable stage (GS33) and the mid-flowering stage (GS65). For best results apply up to 2.0 l/ha between the third node detectable stage (GS33) and the flag leaf fully emerged stage (GS39).

The activity of BRAVO 500 against Septoria may be reduced in the presence of serious mildew infection. If mildew is also a problem, combined use of BRAVO 500 and a suitable mildew fungicide is recommended (see Compatibility section).

BARLEY
Rhynchosporium secalis [moderate control]. Barley Spotting control is also achieved when used as part of a programme with other fungicides.

RATE OF USE
Apply 2.0 litres in a minimum of 200 litres of water per hectare as a MEDIUM spray (as defined by BCPC) at a pressure of at least 2.0 bar.

TIMING
Apply the first application as soon as disease is first detected in the crop. A second application may be made before beginning of flowering (GS61) if severe Rhynchosporium pressure occurs or if there is a risk of leaf spotting.

USE IN TANK MIXTURE
BRAVO 500 should be used as part of an integrated fungicide programme (see Compatibility section).

MIXING AND SPRAYING
Preparation of Sprayer
Ensure that the sprayer is clean and correctly set to give even application at the required volume. Half fill the spray tank with clean water and start agitation. Slowly invert the container several times and add the required amount of BRAVO 500 to the sprayer using a filling device (e.g. induction hopper) or by direct addition to the spray tank. Rinse the container clean. Preferably use an integrated pressure rinsing device or manually rinse three times. Add washings to the sprayer at the time of filling. Agitate during completion of filling and while spraying. Do not leave in spray tank for long periods without using.

Volume of Water and Spraying

After Use
Dispose of rinsed container according to the DEFRA Code of Practice.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
(a) Operator protection
Engineering control of operator exposure must be used where reasonably practicable in addition to the following Personal Protective Equipment:
WEAR SUITABLE PROTECTIVE CLOTHING (COVERALLS), SUITABLE PROTECTIVE GLOVES AND FACE PROTECTION (FACESHIELD) when handling the concentrate.
WEAR SUITABLE PROTECTIVE CLOTHING (COVERALLS), AND SUITABLE PROTECTIVE GLOVES when handling contaminated surfaces.
However, engineering controls may replace personal protective equipment if a COSHH assessment shows they provide an equal or higher standard of protection.
WASH ALL PROTECTIVE CLOTHING thoroughly after use especially the insides of gloves.
WASH SPLASHES from skin or eyes immediately.
DO NOT BREATHE SPRAY.
WASH HANDS AND EXPOSED SKIN before eating, drinking or smoking and after work.

(b) Environmental protection
To protect aquatic organisms, respect an unsprayed buffer zone distance to surface water bodies in line with LERAP requirements.

DO NOT ALLOW DIRECT SPRAY from horizontal boom sprayers to fall within 5 m of the top of the bank of a static or flowing waterbody, unless a Local Environmental Risk Assessment for Pesticides (LERAP) permits a narrower buffer zone, or within 1 m of the top of a ditch which is dry at
the time of application. DO NOT ALLOW DIRECT SPRAY from hand held sprayers to fall within 1 m of the top of the bank of a static or flowing waterbody. Aim spray away from water.

This product qualifies for inclusion within the Local Environmental Risk Assessment for Pesticides (LERAP) Scheme. Before each spraying operation from a horizontal boom sprayer or broadcast air assisted sprayer either a LERAP must be carried out in accordance with CRD published guidance or the statutory buffer zone must be maintained. The results of the LERAP must be recorded and kept available for inspection for three years.

Do not contaminate water with the product or its container. Do not clean application equipment near surface water. Avoid contamination via drains from farmyards and roads.

(c) Storage and disposal
KEEP IN ORIGINAL CONTAINER tightly closed in a safe place.
RINSE CONTAINER THOROUGHLY by using an integrated pressure rinsing device or manually rinsing three times. Add the washings to the sprayer tank at the time of filling and dispose of container safely.
DO NOT RE-USE EMPTY CONTAINERS.
