WILDLIFE, MAMMALS AND BIRDS
WILDLIFE

AXIAL is not classified as ‘Harmful to game, wild birds and animals’.

No risk management is necessary to protect wild mammals and birds. AXIAL is of low toxicity to both mammals and birds. The risk to wild mammals and birds feeding on treated areas is low due to the limited amount of residues likely to be consumed.

BEES
No risk management is necessary. AXIAL is of low risk to honey bees.

NON-TARGET INSECTS AND OTHER ARTHROPODS
No risk management is necessary. AXIAL poses a low risk to a range of arthropods species commonly found in and around treated fields.

AQUATIC LIFE
AXIAL is classified as ‘Toxic to aquatic organisms, may cause long-term adverse effects in the aquatic environment’.

AXIAL is of moderate toxicity to fish, and of low toxicity to daphnia and aquatic plants. Care must be taken to ensure that surface waters or ditches are not contaminated with the product or the used container.

No risk management is necessary. AXIAL may be used safely providing care is taken to prevent spray drift reaching surface waters.

AXIAL is not categorised under the LERAP scheme.

SOIL AND GROUNDWATER, EARTHWORMS AND SOIL MICRO-ORGANISMS
SOIL AND GROUNDWATER

Pinoxaden has low persistence in soil. Under the recommended conditions of use, pinoxaden will have moderate mobility, therefore the risk of ground water contamination is considered to be low.

EARTHWORMS

AXIAL is of low toxicity to earthworms. No risk management is necessary as the risk to earthworms is low.

SOIL MICRO-ORGANISMS

AXIAL is unlikely to have any long-term effect on soil microbial activity. The risk is therefore considered to be low. No risk management is necessary.

NON-TARGET PLANTS
Pinoxaden has negligible activity to plants and consequently, AXIAL should have no adverse effect on field margin plants.

ALWAYS READ THE LABEL: USE PESTICIDES SAFELY

Care must be taken to minimise the risk of surface water contamination from farmyard and field sources.
