- A number of aphid species will feed on and cause damage to salad crops.
- Large colonies of aphids can quickly develop in warm, dry conditions.
- Aphid feeding also leaves unsightly black deposits, reducing crop value.
- Aphids present in harvested salad leaves can result in crop rejection.

- Cutworm is the name given to the subterranean caterpillar life-stage of various moths, primarily the Turnip moth.
- After feeding on foliage, caterpillars moult and fall to the ground, burrowing into the soil and feeding on roots.
- Cutworms also nibble off shoots of salad crops causing plant die back.

Cutworm cannot be controlled in the soil, but caterpillars may be targeted on the foliage. Apply HALLMARK ZEON or DOVETAIL at egg hatch and repeat 10-14 days later according to pest warnings.
Use sufficient water and application techniques to achieve good crop penetration.
