AMISTAR gives outstanding disease control
and boosts yield of oilseed rape. Application
at early flowering gives prolonged
protection from Sclerotinia and Alternaria
infection, as well as maintaining healthy
green leaf to convert more sunlight into
higher oil content.
Outstanding disease control
Late diseases cause significant yield losses in
oilseed rape, including:
• Sclerotinia
• Alternaria
• Botrytis
Sclerotinia infection alone can cause in excess of 40% yield loss, increased crop lodging and uneven ripening - increasing drying costs and reducing seed value. AMISTAR application at early to mid-flowering protects the oilseed rape crop from infection, giving high levels of disease control and yield increases. Breaking the
Sclerotinia cycle also effectively reduces pressure on other crops in the rotation, as well as future oilseed rape crops.
Green leaf powers oil yield
Over 90% of oil yield is generated by sunlight interception in the post flowering period, with leaves by far the most efficient converters of sunlight to oil; growers need to make every effort to extend green leaf retention.
The beneficial green leaf retention of AMISTAR increases yield by an average 0.35 t/ha even where there is no disease present, along with raising the oil content of seed by an average 0.85% - together worth over £120/ha.
Easier management - Greater profit
The proven persistence of AMISTAR - the only strobilurin approved for oilseed rape - gives far greater flexibility in application timing to target for the greatest effects on disease control and green leaf retention.
AMISTAR can be applied from yellow-bud stage - with minimal damage to the crop - right through to late mid-flowering to target late diseases.
Outstanding disease control
The photo below shows a field of OSR in NEWARK, the area on the left was not treated with a fungicide and resulted in 30-40% of the plants being infected with
Sclerotinia.

AMISTAR greening means greater yields
ADAS trials have shown AMISTAR application at early-flowering creates a significant increase in green leaf and stem for up to 30 days through the crucial post-flowering period – every day green leaf is retained increases yield by up to 0.1 tonne per day.
